Is there a demand for a Wood Rot Repair service?

Americans spend $65 Billion/yr replacing windows, doors and siding. The largest reason for replacing windows doors & siding is related to wood rot and termite damage. This is an issue across the US however the USDA has determined that wood deterioration is high or severe in 50% of the United States. Wood deterioration is generally repaired by replacement contractors who, according to consumer reports, rank in the top three industries that receive the most complaints (only behind used car dealers). Replacement projects are largely plagued by frustrating sales tactics, expensive price tags and disruptive remodel schedules. To make matters worse, according to Remodel Magazine, most replacement projects have little to no return on investment. So yes, the demand to repair wood rot is there and people choose Preservan because it’s much less expensive to repair wood rot versus replacing the wood.

How do we stand out against the competition?

Preservan beats the competition by offering a truly disruptive home repair solution. Our wood rot repair services utilize an advanced epoxy resin technology allowing us to repair, not replace, damaged wood for 90% less than the replacement cost. Most jobs are completed in as little as 24 hours!

This epoxy repair method has been used to restore many landmark properties like Monticello, Mont Vernon, and The Statue of Liberty and now, it is available for your community!

Preservan is currently the only home services franchise in the United States that is solely dedicated to fixing wood rot. Some local contractors and a few other national franchises offer this service but wood rot repair is not their main line of business. Through our niche market placing, a great marketing strategy, and continuous training to improve our business as a whole, Preservan is very successful and profitable.

What parts of the home rot?

When most people imagine repairing wood rot they imagine having to enter cold dark crawl spaces with headlamps and cobwebs. Preservan primarily repairs wood windows and doors as these two parts of the home are generally both made of wood and receive the most moisture. It’s the continuous moisture that will cause a wood rot fungus to grow and breakdown wood. The repairs made to windows and doors are all generally done on the exterior of a building. Rarely do our epoxy techs have to go into any crawl spaces. Our wood rot repair service saves the typical homeowner $20,000! At the same time, wood rot can affect so much more than just windows and doors! Wood rot can infect any wood that is subject to continuous moisture including exterior trim pieces, decorative moldings, window sills, garage jambs, pergolas, and even log cabins! Our epoxy repair methods are designed to repair & eliminate wood rot on just about anything made of wood. Preservan is on a mission to save America $500,000,000 in rot repairs by 2030.

What types of homes will I work on?

If you think you will spend your time working on run down abandoned homes think again… At Preservan, our neighbors (that’s what we call our customers) typically live in some of the most elegant houses in your community.

We typically work on homes that are behind a gate, near a lake, or on a golf course. Most of the homes that we repair dry rot on were built before 2010 and we work on helping to restore some of the oldest historical buildings in our communities as well! Our epoxy repair methods are approved by the national park service and many historical societies.

Who should own a Preservan franchise?

Most people overestimate the experience they need to be a Preservan Franchise owner. Franchise partners are not required to have any construction experience nor will they be required to obtain a contractors license (in most cases)! Our ideal franchisees are tired of the corporate grind and ready to do work that matters! We do have a few financial requirements.

You will need to have $50,000 in liquid capital and $150,000 in net worth. More importantly, we are looking for driven individuals who can:

  • Commit full time
  • Want to build a business
  • Are passionate about serving your neighbor
  • Don’t mind getting their hands a little dirty!
How will I learn the epoxy repair process?

With most franchisees having no construction experience, we take the time to teach you our money saving epoxy repair process! Before you start your first job, you will receive training at our headquarters in Oklahoma as well as have access provided to our online training courses. Our franchisees will also receive remote support and training from a dedicated franchise coach. These coaches will review projects, quotes, and make recommendations via our online applications to help guide you down the path of success. We want you to be successful in both running the business as well as in restoring your neighborhood.

How does Preservan support my location after I open?

We realize this can be a big step as a franchise partner. Preservan will be here for you long after you sign the agreement and open your location. Our franchise partners are all provided with access to our call center, marketing team and technical support. This gives you more time to focus on building the brand locally, providing on time quotes, and delivering amazing wood rot repairs! Additionally, we provide training throughout the year via our online portal and through specialized training events. That includes: Tools, leasing and wrapping a new repair vehicle, grand opening marketing expense, professional expenses, office supplies, operating capital, epoxy products and more. The best part is the operating costs are low.

How do I become a Preservan franchisee?

I want to be clear that not every qualified person who contacts us will be awarded a Preservan franchise.

We are looking for the right person to help us grow and serve our neighbors.

When you reach out to us, you will be connected with one of our franchise developers. The developer will learn what your goals are and learn why you want to open a Preservan Wood Rot Repair in your city. If our leadership team thinks you are a good fit, you will be sent information that is not publicly available, like our Franchise Disclosure Document. During the discovery process, we will learn a lot about one another… You will speak with myself and potentially invited to Preservan headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK. Are you ready to get started?
